Rotary vacuum filters

Perlite is a commonly used filtering aid and is obtained by grinding volcanic siliceous rock. Depending on the grain size, the perlite is more or less porous, so has a more or less effective filtering capacity. Rotary vacuum filters are used to perform a rough filtration of the juice during harvesting. Before starting the filtration cycle, the machine is prepared by creating a perlite panel on the machine drum. Vacuum filters are classified in M² of filtering surface and have a filtration cycle which can last from 4 to 8 hours.
