DE filters

Diatomaceous earth or diatomite is a commonly used filtering aid and is obtained by grinding organic siliceous rock. Depending on the grain size, the diatomaceous earth is more or less porous, so has a more or less effective filtering capability. DE filters use this filtration aid and are employed in syrup rooms where the concentrate is prepared as a soft drink base. DE filters are classified in M² of filtering surface and can be manually or automatically drained.
