Microfiltration
Filtration of juices and soft drinks using microporous membranes
Microfiltration is a filtration technique which uses porous membranes capable of trapping particles measuring from 0.2 to 10 μm (micron). The denser the membrane used, the more stable the filtered product will be, because the microorganisms that cause the product to deteriorate, are eliminated with this type of filtration. In the soft drink industry, microfiltration is used to filter drinks before bottling and the advantage of this type of technology is that the membrane can be re-used after washing. Sfoggiatech offers manual or automatic microfiltration systems with both traditional and tangential flow membranes.
