Plate filter

Plate filtration is a filtration technology that uses filtering sheets capable of trapping particles measuring from 0.2 to 20 μm (micron). The denser the filtering sheet, the more stable the filtered product because the microorganisms, e.g. yeast, that cause the product to deteriorate, are eliminated with this type of filtration. In the winemaking industry, sheet filtration is used to filter the wine before bottling. The filtering layers cannot be recycled.
